The Ledger
It's an encrypted archive, buried on the dark web, and it does one thing. It keeps count. Every one is a Balance: a harm the law missed, ignored, or couldn't touch.
The Network is the world that's grown up around that archive. This is crime fiction told the way the record would tell it. Files. Timelines. The plain facts of who did what to whom. It's queer crime fiction, and nobody in these pages is clean. That's the point.
It starts with The Kind Neighbors trilogy.
Michael Denton and Ryan Hayes are married. To their street in Junction City, Kansas, they're the kind neighbors: the ones who wave from the porch, bring the casserole, mow the strip by the curb. What the street doesn't know is what the two of them do to child predators. They find them. They keep their own count.
Then they make a mistake. One they can't file away, can't undo, can't outrun. The trilogy is the story of what that mistake costs them, and what it costs everyone the Ledger touches after.
