Coming 2027

Two men vanished from Kansas in 2012 and became Jack Whitcomb and Noah Metzer. Now they work a drum floor in Mexico, where a cartel boss named Rudolfo keeps a cloth-wrapped federal badge in his bottom drawer and waits. Jack, once a hospice nurse, wants to keep the numbers clean and the man he married within reach. Noah only wants the work to be perfect.

Back in Kansas, Sergeant Kayla Schultz cannot find them. So she reaches for the next best thing: User_621, the anonymous voice who sold the Ledger data to young reporter Travers at an Abilene rest stop. With Travers and a pair of trap laptops, she baits a stranger who answers within a minute and seems to know exactly who is asking.

While Jack and Noah face Mexico's own horrors, Schultz and Travers follow a trail into the dark web. Far away, under amber lamps, a watcher named Matriona studies every move.

Every channel is watched. Every post is a test. Someone is keeping score, and no one knows the rules.

Some men disappear. Some are simply waiting to be found.
